Spring unattached on Brother LS-1217 near bobbin

Question

Had a sewing party last night with 6 forth grade girls. :) Somehow one of my machines got "injured". The bobbin case was all loose and made a lot of noise. I noticed a spring is unattached and just hanging by one end. I don't know where the other end should be reattached and there is no diagram or reference to the spring in the manual. Thanks!
