Sprinkler system not working?

I have a model#ISA-406 sprinkler timer the screen read AC OFF what does that mean? plus my water wont come on now sense that message came on

it means that the fuse in the timer has blown ,due to a bad solenoid on one of your valves. to fix ,remove the fuse ,take it to the supply house and obtain several of the same,as you will need more than one. replace the fuse and turn each station on for a minuet or so ,one at a time until it blows the fuse again. note the station that blew the fuse ,and look at the connection wire in the timer that matches the zone number.note the color of the wire ,and go to your valves following the same wire to the problem solenoid. shut water off and unscrew solenoid.take to supply house and replace with the same.

i would guess it means alternating current off, ie the power is off.  Try pushing an on button, or plug it in, or throw a switch, or check that the breaker at the main panel is on.
