Question:

Sprinkler system won't turn on!?

Help! My sprinkler system will not turn on. We just moved into this house about 2 weeks ago and would like to use the system as it is HOT here ... but when we try to turn it on, nothing happens. The inspector inspected it and turned it on and cycled through it less than a month ago, so it should work. I have turned the dial to run it manually and it flashes running, but it is not. Any ideas?

  1. In the winter, the water in sprinkler systems pipes is blown out with an air compressor to keep the pipes from brusting when the water freezes. After doing so, the water valve is shut off to keep water out of the pipes until spring. You have to turn the valve on, either fully clockwise or handle in-line with pipe depending on the type of valve. The valve is probably located outside your house or in your mechanical room. If that doesn't work, you have to program your clock. Instructions can be found inside the cover or from the manufacturer of your control clock.
