Question:

Sprint??? Best plan and coverage price?

I know I have asked questions about cell plans a little much but this stuff just puzzles me. I seriously hate to be locked into a contract with a service plan that isn't "good".

Recently I went back to Sprint and got the Samsung Instinct. I have had Sprint in the past and I used Helio (which uses sprints towers mostly). In the past the service was very good but going back hasn't been the greatest. Has sprints service went down hill? Are the new phones just turning to high tech to meet the real need?

Really I want a service plan that has good coverage that follows me when I travel (in the US mostly). Of course I want a good all around phone that is easy to text with and can double as an organizer. Am I looking for to much? Has the hype of all the new phones just bombarded me with which direction to go?

Don't get me wrong, I love the Instict, great phone, fun to use with a bunch of fun features. At the same time I think it may be geared a little more toward the school crowd.

I love the feedback that I get from here, that is why I ask so many questions. The best feedback comes from others that have experienced these things. "Reviews" typically become one sided or they become a marketing ploy.

  1. The Sprint Nextel Corporation has adequate coverage through the continental United States. Personally, as of right now, I think that Verizon-Alltel would be the best choice, since they are going to have one of the strongest networks out there. Yes, Verizon and Alltel are merging 1Q 2009. They will become the largest mobile operator in the United States over AT&T. AT&T though, is also a very good choice since they do  have a very large network also. T-mobile wouldn't be such a good choice though, since it is a foreign investment from Germany (T-mobile is a German company that stands for Telekom-mobile). Though if you want GSM (SIM Card) then you will have to use T-mobile or AT&T, the only national GSM providers of America.

All of these companies have nice phones w/ QWERTY keyboards, ect. All you have to do is look on their website. Personally, I believe that AT&T has better phones, but they can be a bit pricy.

  2. Apple iPhone 3G...with AT&T's iPhone 3G basic plan (69.99 a month for 450 minutes, unlmtd data.  $20 a month more for unlmtd text. = $90 a month)

Verizon Dare...with Verizon's basic plan (39.99 a month for 450 minutes, + $30 for unlmtd data, plus $10 for unlmtd in text and 500 to other networks = $80 a mo.)
