Sprint PDA Cellphone Rebate?

Sprint is offering a rebate on PDA cellphones (Palm Treo 800w and HTC Mogul) if you sign up for a two year contract with data service. Can you drop to regular service (without data) in less than two years if you find you don't end up using the data features? Will WiFi still work if you don't subscribe to Sprint's data service?

I believe you probably can. I had sprint service and I was able to drop features w/o any hassle.  You will have to contact them though.  Be careful, sprint can get very expensive (sprint/nextel).
