Sprinter Sacre – One of Nicky Henderson’s most feared runners
Sprinter Sacre is definitely one of the most lethal horses ever trained by veteran, Nicky Henderson, who aims to win some big events with the quality stallion. The pair has been successful on numerous occasions and things are looking bright for them in the
near future.
Henderson is more than happy to have such a talented performer and rates him quite highly. He once said about him, “The way he travels and jumps is testament to his pure class and the only problem is curtailing his enthusiasm in the early part of a race
when the opposition simply does not go fast enough for him.”
The six-year-old gelding from France likes running over fences and hurdles and he has never let his team down. He has got a spectacular record and will be remembered as one of the best in the business once he puts an end to his career.
Sprinter Sacre has mostly enjoyed the company of veteran jockey, Barry Geraghty, who has got a pretty decent record in the sport. He has managed to succeed in 139 hurdles and is nearing a century of chase victories at a high strike rate.
The quality rider rates his stallion as one of the most exciting prospects in the sport and simply enjoys his company to a great extent. Henderson has got pretty interesting views about him though and says, “He's (Sprinter Sacre) spectacular, but I do find
him pretty scary to watch - I hope people find it more enjoyable than I do. Barry [Geraghty] says he's a pure joy to ride and it's the most exciting thing you'll ever get to do.”
Network’s son has appeared in a total of 11 events and has managed to maintain a very high strike rate. He has been successful on nine times whereas finished as a runner up and third once each. This shows that he is a fierce competitor and does not like
settling for anything less than the best.
Sprinter Sacre has always been up to mark for his team. He has maintained a 100 percent winning percentage in Chase and NHF events. However, he failed to do the same over hurdles. Despite that, nothing can be taken away from this spectacular performer and
he will always be rated amongst the best in the business.
