Sprinter Sacre against tough competition in the Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase
Sprinter Sacre is the race favourite for the Grade 1 Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase, which is scheduled to take place on 13th March, 2012, in the Cheltenham Festival. He will be entering this race as a favourite with winning odds of
5 to 6. He is the first of five odd-on shots at this year’s festival.
The bookmakers have confidence in his ability to win this race and earn them the bucks.  Trained by Nicky Henderson, the six-year-old gelding already has an outstanding record.
He finished his hat-trick in his most recent race, which took place on 17th February, 2012. He entered the race as a favourite with odds of 2 to 5 in the Grade 2 Betfair Super Saturday Chase (Registered as the Game Spirit Chase). Coupled with
jockey Barry Geraghty, he finished 6 lengths ahead of French Opera at Newbury.
Al Ferof, Blackstairmountain, Cue Card, Foildubh, and Menorah will be competing against Sprinter Sacre in the 2 mile race.
Al Ferof is looking to be a hindrance in Sprinter Sacre’s attempt to cross the wire first. The seven-year-old gelding trained by Paul Nicholls is in good form and may be able to emerge from the race as a winner. The son of Dom Alco, out of Maralta, will
be entering the race with winning odds of 5 to 2.
After five consecutive first place wins, he finished third in the Grade 1 25th Anniversary Of The Victor Chandler Chase (Registered As Clarence House Chase). His defeat caused a small disappointment for the bookies as he was joint favourite with
Finian’s Rainbow with odds of 5 to 2.
It looks like the race favourite Sprinter Sacre is up against some of the toughest competitors. Menorah and Cue Card are also looking in extremely good shape. He is up against runners who are all set to give him a run for his money.
The Cheltenham Festival will begin in full swing on 13th March, 2012. The Champions Day will host seven races and this will be one of the more exciting races to take place in the day.
