i do sprints (100m 4x1 4x2 and 200m dash) in track

and im going to start doing cross country

and i want to do distance next year in track.

since ive built muscle from being a sprinter

will that slow down my distance stuff?

or will it make no difference?

or will it help me?

and on the flip side...will doing distance make my sprints faster, or slower?

i was pretty much just wondering

and will i lose muscle from distances?

  1. no the muscle will not slow down your distance it will provide more strength which you will definatly need at the end of the  3 mile race... distance will help with your stamina in srpints. what you should do is break up your workouts per week one day distance and one day sprints

    for example mon-weds sprints

    tues- thurs distance and hills

thats what i did and it helped out alot
