I am a sprinter at track (4x100,200,400) but i am conditioning with cross country now (about three months later) for soccer to build up endurance. It is about three miles a day. Will this affect my sprinting when i go back to track again? (it starts march, soccer season ends october.)or will there be no problem? ive also heard it will help my 400.? is that true? but what about my 200 and 100.

  1. building up your endurance will probably help your sprints. you'll be able to run all out for longer. probably less so in the 100 or 200. go for it!

  2. No it won't hurt you. It will actually help you and build up your endurance.

  3. yep it will definetly help your sprinting. I do the 1600m and 800m. I do the 800m workouts and they help me to be faster for the 800m and the 1600m

  4. Conditioning with cross country will benefit you in all areas of sprinting. It will build up your endurance and not cause you any side effects. If anything, it will make you an even better sprinter than you already are!
