Question:

Sprouting seeds/beans. I know they're good for you but how much would be too much of a good thing?

I've had alfalfa in the past, but usually to go in sandwiches. I'm now trying out different seeds/beans, favourites so far are aduki, mung and fenugreek.

Trouble is I'm finding them a bit more-ish and nibbling throughout the day.

What is a reasonable amount to have daily to make sure I'm having enough without overdoing it.

  1. I eat about a mug full every day.... No idea if that is a lot or not enough!

I like a mixture of mung beans, radish and lentils. They are good with a splash of soy sauce and some crushed chili!

  2. Go for it, they are non fat, good for you and tasty, you could start the bean sprout diet, you should sprout some lentils (the ones with the skins on of course) and chick peas (garbanzo) I have had good success with all sorts, you can sprout any bean you can find, I love them.  Make a salad with all your bean sprouts and add a diced really tasty tomato and a bit of basil and red onion, if you add some tuna and a squeeze of lemon its great in a hollowed out bread roll or wrap it in a lettuce leaf and pop into mouth and go mmmmmmmmmmm!
