are there any other edible parts beside the spruce buds

The leaves and branches, or the essential oils, can be used to brew spruce beer. The tips from the needles can be used to make spruce tip syrup. It can also be made into a tea which has approx 8 times the amount of vitamin C as an orange. You can also eat the needles if you're desperate.

Pine seeds are frequently edible as well, though I'm not sure in this case.
