Spud My Boy set to win Williamhill.Com Puppy Plate Trial Stakes
The R. Thomson-trained blue dog, Spud My Boy, is all set to deliver winning performance over 450 meters at Sunderland racecourse where he will run in the Williamhill.Com Puppy Plate Trial Stakes tonight, June 29. The Open Race will commence at 19:54 (GMT).
For the £150 contest, Spud My Boy seems to be the perfect candidate on the basis of his career-wide feats. Except four times, the two-year-old young and talented hound has maintained his presence on the podium constantly. However, he has just two OR races
on his portfolio.
The talented son of Farloe Reason out of Muffins Mini has been winning with regular intervals since the very beginning of his career. He staged debut in December 2011.
The dashing dog elegantly bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in HP races during January-February 2012. He stepped ahead to gain three runner-up ranks in a row during the month of March---these were also HP events.
Being a 2-1 favourite, the maverick hound marvellously won HP 480m Flat by the margin of 4 ½ lengths at Shawfield on March 30. He moved on to finish first in an A4 race on April 13---again with a reasonable margin.
Spud My Boy elegantly clinched top position in his last outing, a T2 race over 300 meters, on June 22. Thus, it is going to be the dog’s second going at Sunderland. He first ran there on May 5 and finished 4th.
It is expected that the momentous runner will show a big run this time, having 90 percent chances to finish first.
However, Spud My Boy will have to be conscious of Unusual Decision who can impede him in the Trial Stakes. The D. W. Wilkinson-trained blue dog started his career with a glaring triumph on March 17, 2012. This was the T2 race over 450 metres.
The son of Hondo Black out of Beautiful Queen moved on to finish as a runner-up in his very next race on May 20. He again grabbed a grand victory in his third start on May 27.
The novice runner has no OR race to his name. Despite this, he can give tough time to Spud My Boy. In this situation, there is likely to be a rip-roaring clash at Sunderland. Let us see who gains what. Good luck to all the six hounds.
