Tottenham Hotspur have gone on to open the bidding war for Hugo Lloris, after the team went on to make the opening bid for the player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 may be on his way to North London after it was learnt that Lyon, the goalkeeper’s current club, have allowed him to leave this season. For now, it is uncertain which specific North London club will secure the French shot-stopper’s signature.
Clubs who want to buy Lloris will have to act fast. Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas announced earlier this week that he let the goalkeeper leave only if a bid is placed before the beginning of pre-season training. He also stated that he will not let Lloris
leave unless an offer is made over £16 million.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Aulas said:
“Hugo told me he would leave if he had an opportunity to play in one of the five biggest European clubs.”
“We talked before, during and after the Euros. We are perfectly in tune on the subject.”
“If any of these clubs make a proposal to the value is €20million, it will have a good scenario. If this is not the case before July 15, it will be the Lyon for the season.”
“For now, I have not received any proposal or Arsenal or elsewhere.”
According to reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have not approached Lyon with an
official bid.
According to English newspapers today, Tottenham have made a bid of £13 million for the French international, who is seen as the long-term replacement for current keeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953, who is set to retire soon having reached the age of 41.
Tottenham look set to reshape their squad as they prepare for the coming season. Having already acquired Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim and Zeki Fryers from Manchester United’s youth set up, they are reportedly in the market for Internacional’s Brazilian
playmaker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814.
Tottenham are looking to finish above Arsenal next season and beat them to Lloris, while they are currently involved in settling the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 contract situation.
News about Tottenham’s link to Lloris will not please Arsenal fans, who are already enraged by their Dutch skipper’s public statement where he said he will not be extending his stay with the Gunners.
