Tottenham Hotspur star player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 is expected to be out for two weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in the 0-3 win over Fulham on Saturday.
The Welsh winger has been in immense form recently and has proven to be very important in Tottenham’s resurgence. The winger has scored and assisted goals that have helped Spurs manage a hat-trick of victories.
The club has now moved up to 4th spot on the league table, level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 who are 3rd. Tottenham had a very dismal early November, but have now managed three consecutive victories after a string of losses.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas will be disappointed by the loss of his star player, and has confirmed the Welshman will be sidelined for two weeks or so. The injury could have been much worse and more prolonged had Bale not been taken off in the game. This news
will come as a blow to Tottenham, who will miss Bale’s directness and tenacity in the games to come.
However, with so many players in fine form, Villas-Boas will be confident that his team will be able to cope without the Welsh starlet.
Defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Dawson-c25288 has also suffered a hamstring injury, but is not expected to miss any of the next games. The defender has only sustained a slight hamstring strain and it is believed the injury is not as worse as the one Bale experienced.
Villas-Boas expects Dawson to be in contention for the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 this week. Speaking to reporters about his players in his post-match conference, he said:
“Both Bale and Dawson have suffered hamstring muscle injuries. One looks more serious than the other although both are controllable.”
“With muscle injuries it’s very difficult but it might keep him out for one to two weeks. Dawson is a little bit less.”
Tottenham will travel to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday. The Toffees are fresh from a hard fought draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and lie in 6th place with 23 points to their name. Tottenham will
be targeting maximum points this month, and face a tough challenge when they visit Everton on Sunday.
