Spurs....(horseriding)?

i was just looking at spurs on a tack shop website and there were some called dummy/fake spurs. anyone know what the point of these are? they didn have the 'spike'

  1. Uh, I've actually never heard of "fake" spurs.  I ride English and our spurs look like this:

    (I prefer the Prince of Wales spurs, personally.  Although I rarely use spurs.)


  2. They are actually for show. Also, as someone said they can be used for other things. But mainly for show looks.

    If the ones you saw are just a rounded stick of metal then they are not as strong as the other ones kindof just for slight correction and looks hope this helps.

    they serve no real purpose,

    they're just made to look good.
