Spy-Bot Search and Destroy help!!!?

I have Spy-Bot. When I'm on the internet, almost every time I go to a new page, a box pops up in the middle that says "Spy-bot has detected a blah-blah-blah". Basically it tells me every time it detects something, and asks me if I want to ignore it. Is there any way to set this so the box doesn't pop up but that spy bot just does it's job without notifying me every time??? I can't find this anywhere on the options.

  1. If you take the first two answers and throw them in a blender you might get the solution to turning off the TeaTimer  ;-)

Here's how to turn off the Tea Timer in Spybot S&D:

    1) Start by opening Spybot and go into Advanced mode:

In the upper left corner click on Mode and tick Advanced mode.

    2) In the menu that appears at the bottom left side, click on Tools.

    3) When the Tools menu opens, click on Resident.

    4) On the Resident menu that appears, UN-tick "Resident TeaTimer".

You can them go back to default mode if you like, or just stay in Advanced. Then close out Spybot and you're done.

Edit / Note: In reference to "Ricky" 's answer below, there's no reason to turn off the SD Helper.  That is Spybot's browser immunity function.  It runs in the background and doesn't bother you at all.  If you turn off both the TeaTimer and SD Helper, you may as well remove the program ;-)

  2. Open Spybot and click Mode at the top and set it to Advanced

Next click Tools>Resident and uncheck "Resident SD Helper" and

    "Resident Tea Timer"

  3. My professional recommendation is that you remove SpytBot Search & Destroy, because this software from Germany is far behind the times in todays world of spyware and adware.

Install upto date technology, Superantispyware.  http://www.superantispyware.com  Update and run and in depth scan.  Free you must update daily on a manual basis, or purchase and get auto. updates.

As to your question, it is a lot easier if you just remove the software and if you really want SpyBot, reinstall and make sure this time that you don´t check off tea timer, or plug into IE.

  4. You need to go into the Advanced settings and disable the Internet Explorer plug in.

  5. You have to disable this feature in the Spy-Bot setting.

  6. Sounds like the system is infected with something spybot cant remove.  I would try AVG, if you would like to learn more about infection then check out the link below

  7. Go to the system tray and right click on the teatimer. select resident IE - selct block silently
