Squeaky brakes or a more complex issue?

I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500 (2wd) with around 65,000 miles on it. Recently, it has been making a squeaking noise when driving/coasting and reversing at low speeds. When reeving in park, there are no noises, so I don't think it's the exhaust. I have 22" rims that I put on myself, and the brakes are still stock from the factory and are about a year old. I had someone standing outside of the truck and they said the noise was more or less coming from under the car (ie: differential or axle) than the brakes. What do you guys think the problem could be?

  1. it also could be a ball joint on a chev these are common to go bad try bouncing the front of you truck and see if you hear it if not either brakes are worn or your slides are dirty on the brake caliper bracket
