Question:

Squiggles in Leaves?

I bought pepper plants recently and they looked healthy. A few days later they had little, yellowish squiggles in some of the leaves. I didn't know what the squiggles were so I removed the leaves that had the squiggles. The peppers appear fine now.

As I was watering my plants today I noticed there were the same squiggles in my sunflowers.

What are those squiggles and are they contagious???

  1. It's true, they're leaf miners!

  2. Leaf miners!  They're insects, and picking off leaves is a good control means.

  3. Good question! I just recently bought 2 tomato plants. And 2 of the leaves have White Squigly lines on them.

One thing i do know. is that plants can get Yellow blotches or lines on them if they are Nitrogen lacking, or nutrient lacking. The leaves usually do not turn back to green after this. But the leave can still be healthy. It's likely just the plants way of showing you, that it needs something else.

    Hope this helps.
