Question:

Squinting a lot during contact wear & tiredness?

Well, I started wearing contacts again (I stopped since they burned, but my friend finally told me the reason why because I was putting them in backwards.. XD) and I've been told when I wear my lens, I squint a lot. My eyes don't feel dry, and I can see perfectly fine when I don't squint. I actually don't know that I'm doing it most of the time. It's kinda annoying since the muscles around my eye are feeling the workout now of constant squinting.

Also, I feel quite tired after wearing my lens for the day...I wear them for maybe 9 and 1/2 hours a day.

I've been wearing them since 4/27. So, 4 days.

Am I adjusting and these things will go away?

I am wearing Acuvue Advance with the Hydraclear. :]]

  1. Go back to the optometrist and ask them what they suggest. It might be the Rx, if you have a slight astigmatism like .25, it would not be in the contacts most likely. Also depending on your age your lens (the one inside your eye) can compensate for a weak prescription and you will see clearly, but it will make your eyes tired. It could be dry eye even though they may not feel dry. It could also may be the brand/type of lens your wearing.

The doctor should be able to recheck everything, and make a recommendation for drops, or change the Rx or the brand of lenses.

  2. Give your eyes time to adjust- it's probably nothing.

If, after two weeks worth of trying, you don't feel as though it's getting better, bring it up with your prescriber.
