I have been visiting my grandparents' cabin in Minnesota for the month of July. Today I decided to sit outside by the edge of the forest and observe nature. So I'm out there, and I spot two squirrels eating their dinner in a tree. I decided to watch them for a while. I lost track of the smaller squirrel, but kept my eye on the bigger one. I watched him gather food from up close (the wildlife is really tame here) and then jump into some trees. I thought I had lost him, when I spotted something hanging from a tree. I was about 3 feet away from it, when I realized it was the squirrel. As far as I could tell, it was hanging onto the branch with only it's tail! And that's not all! It was having a snack while hanging out there too! I was amazed. I have never seen anything like this. So I wondered, is this normal? I'm just curious.
*Just so you know, I left it alone. Last time I asked a wildlife question, a lot of honestly concerned people thought I had disturbed some turtle eggs. *
