Question:

Squirrels in apartment attic?

My apartment complex says they cannot get rid of the squirrels in our attic because they will just keep coming back. They have replaced torn down soffit, but they are getting in from the roof somewhere, and have started to tear down the new soffet. They have been there for over a year now, and it is getting ridiculous. I'm not sure if they cause health problems, but I don't want to take that chance. I want them gone! As of this morning, there are baby squirrels, or at least some kind of baby animal screaming and screatching and I can hear it all over my house. I've tried to ignore the scratching and running noises they make but I cannot ignore this. It is about 98 degrees outside and I don't want them to die in there, as I don't want to deal with the smell. So, I don't want to turn my a/c off when I go out so they have less a chance of dying up there. So, my question is do they cause health problems? and can I take legal action? please help me, i'm going to lose my mind.

  1. Ask the landlord to get an exterminator to deal with the problem.  Call the landlord and back it up in writing with a certified letter.  If there is no satisfaction, get a lawyer.

  2. They can get rid of them, just check out this link it has all the answers and maybe print it out for the landlord.

    They are a pain

  3. Call animal control and the squirrels will be removed and a bill will be sent to the landlord.

  4. There's got to be a way to fix the problem of them getting in.  It's been going on more than a year so it seems like your landlord just doesn't want to pay anymore.  Time to call the health department in your area and report it.
