Hey jus happened today my engine got smashed on the way home from the coast, one of the pistons came loose an blew a hole thru the engine block. pretty much long story short the engine is now useless, and before you say buy a new car dont say that cos i cant lol, so i was wondering roughly how much it would be to buy a sr20 to replace the old engine. and i know there are a few types of sr20 engine like red top and black top. My Nissan pulsar is 1989 front wheel drive, is it possible to put a sr20 in it and if so which one?? will i need other things aswell to go with the engine like gear box, any manifolds??? any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

  1. Most of the engine swaps I've seen have been red tops from a bluebird awd car. You will have to get a different tranny and manifolds as well as motor mount changes. You will need a new ECU and wiring harness too. In total just the parts will cost you upwards of 3k US. You could buy two pulsars the same year as you have now for that price. If you really want to keep the car then you need to go to this site and check out the engine swaps and read the message boards.
