Sreesanth targets IPL-5 for comeback to competitive cricket - Cricket News Update
The aggressive India pace bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Sreesanth-c2398, who is recovering from a toe injury, is targeting the upcoming fifth edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) to make a comeback to competitive cricket.
The 29-year-old Kerala speedster sustained a toe injury in December last year and was ruled out of competitive cricket for eight weeks. However, the pace bowler has recovered from the injury and is eying the esteemed Twenty20 tournament for a successful
return.
"I'm really excited about the challenge and eagerly looking forward to it," said Sreesanth, while speaking to media reporters on the sidelines of a promotional event in Kolkata on Sunday.
The pacer is eying the upcoming Twenty20 League as a platform to press his claims for his inclusion in the Indian team for the World T20 Championship, set to be played in Sri Lanka in September this year.
"The onus is on me now to make it count there so that I can set myself up for a return to the national team at the World T20 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 this September," said Sreesanth.
The right-arm medium pacer, who played for the now defunct IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala last year, was bought by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals for his base price of US$ 400,000 in Saturday’s auction

To date, Sreesanth has played 53 Twenty20 matches claiming 45 wickets at an average of 32.80.

"The team is going through a difficult phase, no doubt,” said the right-arm pacer when asked to comment on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. “But still, I would request everyone -- even past and future cricketers -- to remain beside and support
the guys who are toiling out there," he added further.
