Combined Provinces secured its impressive first and only win after defeating Wayamba with 7 wickets on the Sri Lanka Cricket Inter Provincial Twenty20 Tournament. The fixture came as the 10th game of the competition and was staged at the R Premadasa
Stadium, Colombo, on Wednesday, July 27, 2011.

The bout took off with an early loss for the batting side as Vandort made his way to the pavilion in the inning’s second over. However, alongside the skipper, one down batsman Rumesh Buddika took on an aggressive stance, scoring some swift numbers for the
side.
The partnership was finally called to an end in the 7th over with the skipper making the exit this time. With an impressive run at the crease, Kandamby scored 28 runs coming primarily from his 4 boundaries.
However, with the second wicket already gone, Wayamba was offered another blow from the Combined Provinces bowlers after two successive wickets came in the following 8th and 9th overs.
By now, the batting side had lost 4 players in 8.4 overs after posting a total of 69 runs.
With the middle order now left to wrap up the remaining innings, the bowling side went on earning three more wickets, bringing an end to Wayamba’s batting session after the team managed to post a fair total of 155 runs after losing 7 wickets.

run at the crease through a fair contribution of 33 runs including a boundary and a single out of the park.
