How could 20 minutes of rain, stop more than 3 hours of cricket being played.

take a look at england, where it rained in the morning for 45 minutes, and the test started 45 minutes later.

Are all Subcotinent facilities and drainage this useless and pointless. Why not spend a little bit more money on the drainage equimpent.

  1. ground is being reconstructed , give them benefit of doubt

  2. yes u r right!!!!!nobody is willing to take such small but very useful steps frm the aspect of game point of view, and after all srilanka is not as developed as england so just hopes can be made.........

  3. maybe sri lanka is a tropical country which has the monsoon season while england does not....

  4. Thats a bit rough. Sri Lanka got absoulty smashed by the boxing day Tsunmai and lost a h**l of alot of infastructure. I dont really know much about Sri Lankas fincial status but I know they are not one of the worlds econmic powers so rebuilding hospitals and schools probally took preference to cricket grounds and equipment.

Considering what devastaion the country suffered I think its great they are able to play any cricket at all so soon.

  5. SRI LANKA is pathetic!!

  6. Im sorry but you may have insulted a few Lankans.:P

Besides you must be a real big fan upset that the one time India's batsmen cicked, the rain may unclick them. But you cant blame everything on infrastructure of ASIAN countries...!!

  7. bad weathers happen all the time mate.

  8. you r exaggerating, but its heavy rain over there (the monsoon season)

  9. Listen, you could be a little nicer. I mean, Sri Lanka is a small country, and because of that, they obviously don't have that much money, so what? The match went on, didn't it? There is also a war going on in Sri Lanka, so money needs to be spent on stuff that is protection related.Plus, it's the monsoon season, can Sri Lanka help that either? And all that little money that they could spend on drainage, it really isn't a little amount. Remember, $1US is 100 Rupees. So the $50 it would cost to install a drainage is really $5,000 Rupees. I just think you can't bare the fact that Sri Lanka actually started to do well after the rain stopped, and that they took advantage of the rain. Everyone knows that Sri Lanka is not that type of team. We play fair and square no matter what. So, for you information, Sri Lanka is the last country to be called pathetic.

  10. Hey, u shouldn't pick on countries like that!! U don't know what its like in Sri Lanka so don't judge!!

  11. Sri Lanka is a very poor country for one and if the rain situation helps the home team then why in the world they would change anything? Sri Lanka is Pathetic without any doubt. 20 minute rain can stop the match for 3 hours for what? Break the momentum of the opponents? If chances of winning are not great then take the match toward a draw? It's hard to read the mind of the sri lankans.

  12. I agree

but reason is ,their cricket board is bankrupt

its jus because of india they can afford playing cricket

India helps srilanka in each and every field .still srilankan users here l**k austrilian bottoms.

  13. Go l**k ur mommy's kitty..

Or Queen Elizabeth's pusssy.. ha ha..

  14. Ground conditions and drainage sytems are entirely different from European countries and sub-continent.  Further infra-structure in sub-continent is poor as compared to England, Australiac.

  15. Sri Lanka I think were just trying to waste time as India are in a fantastic position and the Sri Lankan's cannot take it that India are better than them,

  16. Because it's a monsoon rain and water just pours down whereas in England u get light drizzles. It certainly does take lot more time than in England to dry up.

If u really wat 2 call something 'Pathetic' here's an option.

Pathetic = English cricket team(Even with all the money and facilities they've got lol)

  17. You've got it all wrong. When it rains in Sri Lanka it pours down really heavy. 20 minutes of rain in Sri Lanka can make enough water to open a swimming pool. I may be exaggerating a bit. But its heavy rain over there (the monsoon season)

EDIT: also, the air is extremely humid over there, even when it's raining the air is always moist, so even though the suns out, the water won't dry up.
