Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club clinches 130-run victory over Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club at the Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala
A solid century from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sachithra-Chaturanga-Serasinghe-c87812 (51), enabled the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club to work their way up to a sizeable final total of 340, which their bowlers defended with ease. Narada Ratnayake (10-1-66-6) and Anurudda Rajapakse (10-0-59-2) made valiant attempts to rein in the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club’s batsmen, but their efforts fell short.
The Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club put in a decent effort when it came to chasing down 341, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Munasinghe-Pathirathnalage-Gayan-Damith-Prasanna-Gunatilleke-c77981 (41) were the only other batsmen who managed to put up a fight. The rest gave their wickets away cheaply, and the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club went on to win easily, by 130 runs.
Moors Sports Club secures 3-wicket win over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Ports Authority Cricket Club at the Moors Sports Club Ground, Colombo
A five-wicket haul from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kaluarachchige-Yohan-de-Silva-c70031 (15) chipped in with small scores. However, their efforts did not amount to much.
Udana (9-0-42-4) and Sanitha de Mel (9-0-39-2) made valiant attempts to defend their team’s dismal total, but the Moors SC worked their way up to 191 within 41 overs, at the cost of just 7 wickets. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pinnaduwage-Chaturanga-de-Silva-c82299 (50) were the main run-getters for their side, and a couple of small contributions from the remainder of the batting order enabled the team to secure a 3-wicket victory, with 54 balls remaining.
Colts Cricket Club demolishes Saracens Sports Club by 10 wickets at the Colts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo
In a largely one-sided match, which barely lasted 14 overs in total, the Colts Cricket Club claimed a quick 10-wicket win over the Saracens Sports Club. Fielding first, the Colts’ Chathuranga Kumara (5-2-7-5) and Kanishka Alvitigala (5.5-2-11-4) triggered a complete batting order collapse, and did not allow any of the Saracens SC’s batsmen to progress beyond single-digit scores.
Set a meagre target of 20 runs, the Colts’ openers Shehan Fernando (12*) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harsha-Eranga-Vithana-c61939 (2*) got the team safely over the finish line, with 10 wickets still in hand, and 286 balls remaining.
