Sri Lanka V India – 4th ODI – Toss Report – Jayawardene opts to bat in crucial encounter
Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene has won the toss and opted to bat against on-tour India, in the fourth One Day International of the five-match series, to be played shortly at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo today, July 31, 2012.
About his decision to bat first, Jayawardene said that he wanted to put runs on the board since there will be no Sangakkara to shoulder the pressure of scoring runs in second innings.
The tourists have made one change to the squad that played in the previous match, at the same venue over the weekend, bringing in much-talked http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-Sharma-c83352.

in the Sri Lankan line-up is Nuwan Pradeep replacing left-arm seamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Isuru-Udana-c64628, who did not have any success in the previous two encounters against the world champions.
In the absence of Sangakkara, the hosts will look to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397 and Dinesh Chandimal to push at the top.
Death bowling remains an area of concern for the tourists, who once again conceded almost 100 runs in the last ten overs of the game on Saturday.
The Colombo wicket being used for Today’s clash is dry, unlike the one used for the last match, where there was movement for the bowlers up-front.
India currently lead the five-ODI series 2-1, and the hosts need to win today’s match at any cost to entertain their hopes of winning a bilateral series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at home for the first time since 1997.
