Sri Lanka Women v Bangladesh Women: 1st ODI – First Innings Report
Batting first, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Women in the 1st ODI today, on October 11, 2011, at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
Winning the toss, Sri Lanka Women elected to bat first, opening the innings with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjeewani-Inoka-Galagedara-c88668 and Avanthika Mendis. The start was good as the opening duo put 25 runs on the scoreboard. However, Mendis fell after scoring 12 off 23 balls with the help
of two boundaries.
The one-down batter, Chamari Atapattu, was in good form as she started hitting hard from the very start of her innings. Atapattu and Galagedara forged a partnership of 65 runs. The unfortunate Atapattu fell short of two runs from completing her maiden ODI
fifty and went for 48 off 34 deliveries.
The next batter was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suwini-Priyanga-de-Alwis-c92076, who took a stunning start but could not maintain her momentum. Meanwhile, Galagedara fell in the 20th over after scoring 25 from 50 deliveries with the help of 3 boundaries.
The opener was succeeded by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hettimulla-Appuhamilage-Shashikala-Dedunu-Siriwardene-c63126 who played a tremendous innings and stayed on the crease till the last ball of the innings. Alwis lost her wicket for 17 after hitting 2 fours off 23 balls.
Sandamali Dolawatta was the last middle-order batter, who scored 19 runs off 36 balls including 3 boundaries.

Siriwardene was the protagonist of the day as she lashed 53 runs from 92 balls, hitting 3 boundaries and a six. She defied all the bowling tactics of the rivals and kept scoring confidently till the end.
Much to the good luck of Sri Lanka Women, Bangladesh Women bowlers squandered away 27 extra runs.
Thus, Sri Lanka Women totalled 238 with run rate of 4.76 per over.
