Sri Lanka announces ODI squad, Nuwan Kulasekara and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SL-Malinga-c2540 called in - Cricket News Update
Cricket Sri Lanka, on Tuesday, announced its squad for the One-Day leg of their ongoing tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. The limited over competition will see the return of Nuwan Kulasekara along with specialist pacer Lasith Malinga.
Kulasekara, who has not played for Sri Lanka since August 2011 due to an injury, was initially set to join the team ahead of the Boxing Day against South Africa; however, the sports ministry of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 opted for uncapped Kanishka
Alvitigala instead.
Now, Nuwan will be replaving Alvitigala, who could not feature in a single Test.
Others who have been called up by the Lankan selectors for the upcoming five-match ODI series, include http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WU-Tharanga-c2802 and Kosala Kulasekara.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Samaraweera-c2712 - who are currently on the tour - will head back home soon after the ongoing third Test
in Cape Town concludes.

Mendis and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HMRKB-Herath-c1559. Both Mendis and Herath are already in South Africa with the Test squad and performing fairly well.
Mendis, who was overlooked for the series against Pakistan in the UAE, has not played a single Test so far in the tour, but selectors have faith in him ahead of Prasanna, who struggled for penetration during the 4-1 ODI series drubbing
at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755. Herath, on the other hand, impressed the team management and selectors with nine wickets in Sri Lanka’s 208-run win at Durban.
Emerging all-rounder Kosala Kulasekara, who played only one Test and one ODI during the Pakistan series, retained his spot.
The five-match One Day International series between Sri Lanka and South Africa starts in Paarl on January 11
