Sri Lanka cricket team captain Kumar Sangakkara has advised his team to score more runs and take quick wickets if they are to win their second World Cup title.
Sangakkara and his men face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 on Saturday, 2 April.
“We have to keep ourselves grounded. Wednesday's strategy is very simple: score more runs and take quick wickets,” Sangakkara told the media reporters in the pre-match media conference at the Wankhede Stadium.
Sangakkara, who was part of the Sri Lankan side that finished runners-up in 2007 after losing to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the final, asked his men to lift their performance as he does not want history to repeat itself.
“We have to play tomorrow as well as we can. Four years back we were outdone by a fantastic innings by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918. This time we won't allow that to happen and even if it happens, hopefully we will have the mental aptitude to adjust
and get back in the game,” said Sangakkara reminiscing the ICC World Cup 2007 final.
Sri Lanka team management is still unsure about the availability of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Muttiah-Muralitharan-c78157 and Angelo Mathews for the final clash as both of the players are suffering from injuries.
To cover for the injured duo, the Sri Lankan team management has called in veteran left arm swing bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chaminda-Vaas-c1223 and young off-spinner Suraj Randiv.

However, Sangakkara said that the final decision about the injured players and their replacements would be reached by the eve of the match.
“We will take a final decision by the evening as to who is fit to play and also decide on the combination of the team,” said Sangakkara.

This would be the first-ever all-Asia Cricket World Cup final and the cricket pundits are expecting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 and his men to come out victorious.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope a well-contested final lies in the store for us.
