Sri Lanka name provisional squad for home series against Pakistan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 – Cricket News Update
Sri Lanka cricket, on Monday, announced its provisional squad for the upcoming home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and India. Fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep and spinner Ajantha Mendis have both been named in the 30-member squad, which does not
include a new face.
Both Pradeep and Mendis have not donned Sri Lankan colors since last year’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. Seamer Pradeep was nursing a torn hamstring while spin bowler Mendis has recovered from a back injury.
Pradeep, the 25-year-old right-arm medium pacer, had sustained the hamstring injury during the tour match against the South African Invitation XI in Benoni and was forced to return home without a game. Since then, the fast bowler
has played only one first-class game in December last year, where he claimed four wickets for Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, against Moors Sports Club at Colombo. Pradeep’s lone Test appearance for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 had come in October last year against Pakistan
at Abu Dhabi.
Another inclusion in the squad is the fast bowler Dilhara Fernando. The right-arm medium pacer from Colombo too has not played for the Islanders since January this year. To date, Fernando has played 39 Tests and 147 One Day Internationals
for Sri Lanka, claiming 97 and 187 wickets in each format respectively.

Pakistan is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on May 29 to play the Islanders in two T20 Internationals, five One Day Internationals and three Tests in June-July. India, on the other hand, is likely to play a One-Day series comprising
five ODIs and a one-off T20 International in late July and August.
