Sri Lanka to host PAK-AUS series – Cricket News Update
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to host Australia at Sri Lanka after Australian Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, refused to play in Pakistan due to security concerns.
The deal between both the countries is in final stage as Sri Lankan Cricket Board secretary http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 next week to sign the memorandum.
“Sri Lanka Cricket had expressed the desire to host the series to the PCB a month ago and both boards have no problems with it. I do not know about the stand of the other cricket board CA yet,” said Ranatunga.
Alam told that the board was considering to utilize the venues of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 itself but the decision went to Lanka’s favor for both commercial and cricketing reasons.
“We’ve made a decision on Sri Lanka for a number of reasons which will be revealed after signing the deal,” said the former coach.
Earlier PCB used to hold its home series at UAE, but the hot weather in summer as well as the comparative expensive factor have seems to force the board to make switch this time.
The series schedule comprises five ODIs and three T2O internationals between the two sides, which will be conducted in coming August. Initially, there was only one T2O, but while considering the fact that World Cup T20 will be followed immediately in the
same country, two matches are more added into the program so that both teams get used to the conditions.
This will be the first encounter of both the teams after a year, as they played last time against each other in the World Cup 2011 league matches, where http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 won by 4 wickets.
Both the teams have played 87 ODIs against each other, where Australia have dominated by 52 wins. The Four times champions also supersedes in Test matches by six wins with the win-loss ratio of 11:5. Pakistan, however, have an upper hand in T2O internationals
where they have beat the Aussies in 4 out of 7 seven matches.
