Sri Lanka v Australia, 1st One Day International- Australian Batsmen to watch out
The first limited overs International between Sri Lanka and Australia will take place at the Pallekele Stadium, on August 10, 2011.
The difficulty of the tour was well underlined by their 2-0 whitewash in the T20, where Cameron White and his men failed to make an impression. The T20 captain admitted after the second defeat in a row, that it was the spin in the tracks, which did the
trick for the hosts.
The performance of the T20 side has again put the team in the spot light and now it will be interesting to see the approach of the newly appointed captain, Michael Clarke, who will have a tougher task of motivating his troops ahead of the first one-dayer.
The batting needs to fire and will have to tackle spin aptly in order to have any chance of winning against a formidable Lankan line-up.

The explosive all-rounder will have to be at his top form in order to come good under difficult conditions. However, he has been nothing short of phenomenal in the calendar year, scoring 890 runs at an average of 68.46. It was in this year against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747,
where he powered his way to an Australian best individual score of 185 off 96, hitting an astounding 15 sixes.
However, it will be a tough ask for the player, who is surely looking forward to the challenge of the pitches, where he has never played before.
"Going to Sri Lanka and playing in their conditions is as tough a tour as there is, especially for an Australian team. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746,”he said in an interview before leaving for the tour.

The Punter, arguably had the toughest year or so in his career. After being part of an Australian side which lost the Ashes to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, he failed to inspire his men to defend their World Cup Crown, despite a hard- battled ton in a lost cause in the quarter
final against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. Though injuries did play a part, the veteran would be the first one to admit that his batting was not up to the mark.
Having lost the captaincy to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978, Ponting will now hope to focus fully on his batting. An elegant player, he has played in 362 one-day internationals, averaging above 40. Moreover, he holds the distinction of being the only player to have previously
played in Sri Lanka, where the team will be banking on his knowledge to come good.
Michael Clarke
The captain has been given the idea of what’s to come after watching his side losing the T20s. However, a reliable figure, he will be hoping to anchor the side and guide the team to its former glory. He remains just two ODIs away from reaching 200 and with
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ricardo-Gouveia-c84824, he is the second most experienced player in the team.

The left- hander is one of the finest finishers of a cricket game. His stats speak volumes about his skills and he has earnt great respect. However, it has been a bumpy ride for the Mr reliable, as he, along with Ponting and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, will be gearing to provide
the Aussie swift recovery to the top.
In 158 ODI matches, Hussey is averaging 51.41, however, in this year this has dropped to 38.50
