Sri Lanka v Australia – 1st Test- Sri Lankan Bowlers to watch out for
The ODI series loss on their home soil will act as a wake-up call for Sri Lanka, who was expected to win against an Australian side, ravaged with off-field problems.
Relying too much on slow bowlers came to their downfall as the pitches offered enough pace and bounce for both the team’s seamer to be a constant threat.
Now the focus shifts on the five-day format, and the favourite tags will still remain with the hosts’ side, which will look to inflict misery on the 5th Ranked Test side in the World, looking to rebuild under the newly appointed captain, Michael
Clarke.
With the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SL-Malinga-c2540, the Lankan’s are well short of fire power in their fast bowling department.
However, with the pitches again expected to assist the slow bowers and hosts naming almost all their spinners in the Test squad, one would expect a barrage of off and leg breaks thrown at the Australian batting line-up.

The fast- medium pacer is yet to make his International Test debut, however, with an more than impressive performance in the final 3 One-Dayers against the Aussies, he surely looks to make his five-day bow, come the start of the first test.
Eranga,in  his short stint has shown the ability to swing the ball and has taken some crucial scalps which include the outfoxing of  http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 with a slower ball. However, the longer version will offer a different test for the youngster, who will hope
to show his worth to the side, which are in desperate need of an attacking bowler following the retirement of the slinger.

The seamer gives another dimension to the hosts bowling line-up as he is a left-armer. However, it remains to be seen how much faith does the skipper and management show in the 30-year-old, whose previous outing against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 was nothing to shout about.
He remains one more in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chaminda-Vaas-c1223, who superbly led the attack for more than a decade.  Currently, Welegedara has taken only 19 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 51.

Call him a slow bowler or an out and out spinner, Mendis has every ball in his repertoire which could trouble the best of the batsman. He burst onto the scene after an amazing start to his One-Day career, before making his debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2008, claiming
the Man of the Series honors.
Since then, his form has been patchy to say the least as confidence has played a major role in his short career. However, he still remains in the Lankan plan as a long term successor to the retired  http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Muralitharan-c1864, and will certainly look to improve
on his Test bowling average with currently stands at 32.48.

Another unknown prodigy who rose to fame in a matter of days after the 26-year-old picked up an impressive 6 wicket-haul against English http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 while playing for the touring Sri Lanka A side.
This led the selectors to immediately call him for the final two One-Dayers against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, as the leg-spinner impressed taking 3 wickets on début. The Kangaroos haven’t seen much of the player, who will be hoping to bamboozle the opponents and stake
a permanent claim in the Lankan set-up.
