India climbed to number-two spot in the ODI format on Saturday, by claiming victory in the five-match series finale against hosts Sri Lanka, at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka had already lost the series to the Indians and were playing for pride, however, India had other plans, seeking their third successive victory in the tournament.
