Sri Lanka vs http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 - 2nd ODI - Thisara Perera haul sets up comfortable victory
Events at Hambantota, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Isuru-Udana-c64628, both of whom
failed to get any purchase from the track in the early phases of the second ODI.
The Indian control however, could not last long enough when a man with a golden arm, Thisara Perera, crushed the mighty batting line up single handedly.
The first victim was Virender Shewag, who was caught and bowled by the right-armer, who dived acrobatically to his right to provide an important scalp for his side. Back in form following an imposing half-century in the previous ODI, Sehwag offered a loose
stroke, coming mainly after he was bogged down for the first five deliveries.
The second over saw the medium-pacer get the better of the Indian run machine, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779. This was another major blow to the visitors since the right-handed
batsman had three hundreds in the past three innings.
Perera kept his onslaught as the Indian players continued to misjudge the pace of the track. The third over brought more jubilation for the Lankans after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539 chopped a ball on to his off-stumps in an attempt to dab it to the third-man region. The
same over saw the home side squandering another chance, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AD-Mathews-c913 dropped a sitter at first slip to deny the all-rounder his fourth scalp.
A valiant effort by the 23-year-old has brought his recent six-wicket haul memory against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 to life, where he ran through the Men in Green’s lineup and played a pivotal part in helping his side clinch the series after going one-nil down.
The Indians were confident after their first showing, where they won the opening ODI comprehensively on the back of some strong batting contributions however, the second ODI showed the resilience of the Lankan pace attack, headed by Perera. His heroics,
along with important contributions from Angelo Mathews and Lasith Malinga, helped his side restrict the Indians to a lowly 138 before easily chasing down the target to level the series 1-1.
