Sri Lankan authorities to discuss Hashan Tillakaratne’s allegations: Cricket News
The Sri Lankan cricket authorities will meet on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in order to discuss the allegations made by the former captain, Hashan Tillakaratne. The former player threatened
to reveal some big names involved in match-fixing in the near future.
Talking to the media, chairman of Sri Lankan cricket, DS de Silva, stated, “We will take a decision on what action would be taken on Hashan Tillekaratne's allegations.” However, there was
no indication by the chairman on whether an investigation will be launched on the matter or not.
Earlier, Tillakaratne alleged, “Match fixing is not something that started happening yesterday or today. This has been happening since 1992 and I know all the people who are connected to
it.”
On being asked about the ICC World Cup 2011 final between Indian and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, Tillakaratne said he was unsure whether there was any wrong doing involved in that match or not.
Although some serious allegations have been made on the Lankan Lions, the team has been doing well in the recent past. Former captain, Kumar Sangakkara, led his side to the finals of the

were involved in several cases of wrong doings.
Pakistan lost three key players, Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, who were found guilty of spot-fixing against England last year. The trio had links with bookies and were barred
from playing cricket for a long period by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Apart from theses players, there were also some senior members of the team, who were investigated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on suspicion of corruption. One of these players was
wicket-keeper batsman, Kamran Akmal, who was just given clearance before the World Cup. However, veteran players Shoaib Malik and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 were not cleared for selection by the board.
