Sri Lankan cricketers allowed to play in IPL, Media optimistic of Indo-Pak series – Cricket news
In another twist of events, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board has allowed its players to see out their contracts with their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) teams. The board had recently demanded that the players return to Sri Lanka by May 5, 2011 but a
change of heart, probably brought out of respect for their neighbouring country, has changed all that.
"We have excellent relations with the government of India and the Indian cricket board. We don't want to upset India,” said a Board official.
The decision was made after the Board of Cricket Control India (BCCI) wrote an official letter to their Sri Lankan counterparts requesting that the Sri Lankan players be allowed to play in the IPL. The players would then rejoin their national squad after
the tournament’s conclusion on May the 28th.
Speaking to the press, Mahindananda Aluthgamage the Sports Minister for Sri Lanka, had this to say, "We are giving players more time to play the IPL before joining the team for the England tour, after several requests from the Indian cricket board."
The decision seems to appease all the parties, even though the Sri Lankan team will be missing their IPL companions in the first test match against England which starts two days before the IPL’s conclusion.

Pakistan’s media optimistic of Indo-Pak series
Reports emerging from Pakistan’s media suggest that a Pakistan-India series may be a possibility as early as June of this year.
If the reports are true then it will be the first time any team has played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 since the horrific attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009. However there is also speculation that the Indian team may just visit their rival nieghbours for just a single
ODI international instead of a full tour.
The only obstacle seems to be the behind the scenes politics as certain parties think the tour is scheduled too soon after the attacks that took place in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820. Prime Minister’s of both countries discussed the idea of “renewing cricketing ties” when they
were guests to a fine semi-final in Mohali during the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2011.
