Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka comes after the neighboring Bangladesh side was barred from visiting due to a court order earlier this month. Due to security concerns in the country, international teams have been reluctant to tour Pakistan, especially after the terrorist attack on the touring Lankan side, back in 2009. However, after negotiations, the Pakistan Cricket Board was finally able to convince their Bengali counterparts to tour for a short series, which was eventually postponed due to the court order.
Going up against Sri Lanka, the Men in Green come from a stellar showing at the Asia Cup in March this year, where they defeated the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, Pakistan and Bangladesh, only to be ousted from the reckoning.
While the Pakistani’s have not had any cricket after the Asia Cup, the Lankans were paid a short visit by the English side, looking for two Tests. Sri Lanka won the first 5-day game at Galle by 75 runs, while the Poms struck back to win the second by 8 wickets.
