my opinion: go for Canon A590 IS... easily the best affordable camera one can ever thnk of... it has everythng tat a gr8 digi cam needs to have: image stabilization, face recognition, 8megapix,  amazing battery life, gr8 clarity, very easy to use,.. and best of all, all for less than 11,000!!!!!!!!!
