We are thinking of moving there. I know it's nice to vacation, but how is it to live there? Schools, jobs, quality of life, etc. THANKS!

  1. If your expecting it to be like Central Florida it's not but, it is very pretty and laid back.Close to most little towns that do a lot of farming. There is always Daytona though a 30 minute drive from there.  lol  ;)

  2. The building has slowed way down over the past year.

Not so many houses being built now.

Much nicer from a residents point of view.

But not so great for a building contractor.

    We love it here.

    I feel healthier here.

    I am from the SW.

My husband is a Fl., but not ST. Augustine, native.

    Good schools, reasonable costs.

We have been here about 8 yrs.

Jobs are tough to find anywhere

except the SW US oil fields.

    Find that job first!

  3. I visit their often.  I had considered moving there at one time but I talked to a former resident.  He said the number of people moving to St. A was way to much for the general infrastructure - and the city had no immediate plans to make changes to accommodate the large influx of people.  This was about 7 years ago and I have no idea if it is valid today.  But really something you should check before moving there.

  4. Schools are generally top rated for the state.  Jobs, rather slow right now.  Quality of life great for outdoors people, and coming along on the cultural front, but obviously not to Orlando standards.
