St. Louis Blues President John Davidson could be joining Columbus Blue Jackets after leaving Blues
John Davidson, the former goaltender and the President of the St. Louis Blues, could be joining the Columbus Blue Jackets after leaving the job at the Blues team in the National Hockey League (NHL).
After doing the job with the St. Louis Blues team and taking them to new heights, Davidson would be leaving the team, although he has 3 years left on the 4 year contract, which he had signed last year.
59-year-old former NHLer had made it clear that he is not leaving the Blues’ organisation with any hard feelings and this is just happening because the ownership is purchasing new sports clubs and he is leaving the club happily.
The former goaltender has already set his sights on the next project and is ready to join the Columbus Blue Jackets team if they make an offer for him.
Talking to the Columbus Dispatch, Davidson revealed that he would happily accept the challenge of taking over the Blue Jackets as they are a very good team and he would be very interested in them as he still has a lot to offer. He said,
"I want a challenge. I'm interested in hearing what might be out there. There's lot of energy in this old broken-down body."
According to the Ottawa, Ontario native, Columbus based team is way better than what the Blues’ team was when he joined them at first. Columbus have got some great players in his opinion and they would provide him a great help as the team is already built
up, unlike St. Louis. He further said,
"If [my next stop] is Columbus, I can tell you this: That hockey club is better than the one we took over in St. Louis. That club was way, way down the ladder. But this Blue Jackets team is not that far away. There are some pieces there to work with, absolutely.
They’ve got some real players there, boy."
Davidson also disclosed that he has talked to the President and the owner of the Blue Jackets and he would like to meet them again in order to finalise the deal.
