St. Louis Blues’ former player and President John Davidson leaving the job of the organisation
John Davidson, former National Hockey League (NHL) player and currently the President of St. Louis Blues, who play in the Central Division of the Western Conference of the league, would be leaving the job of the President after doing the job for 6 years.
Davidson, who had took over the seat of the President of hockey operation of St. Louis Blues on 30th June 2006, appears to be leaving because of the change of the guard and the team is purchasing pro sports clubs.
Team’s chairman, Tom Stillman paid a tribute to the former goaltender as he had a lot of good to say about him. Stillman also hailed the commitment of Davidson for the club as he thinks that the 59-year-old Ottawa, Ontario native made Blues one of the top
teams of the world and developed it into something which was a very strong and famous organisation. The chairman also thanked the President as he said,
"We would like to thank JD for his commitment and dedication to the Blues organization over the past six seasons. He has been instrumental in revitalizing the Blues franchise and has built a strong foundation for our organization, which will ensure the club’s
success well into the future. He has also developed one of the top teams in the game today."
Talking to the Associated Press (AP), Davidson said that there is no feeling of hatred or disliking for the club as he is leaving. It is happening just because ownership is going for different sports clubs and change is expected in such case. He also told
that there were some discussions held between him and Chairman Tom Stillman as he said,
"There's no animosity at all. When you see new ownership purchasing pro sports clubs, there's always going to be change. Tom and I have had a number of discussions”.
6-foot-3, 205 pounder former hockey player had signed a 4 year contract and still has 3 years left on his contract but he thinks that his contract would become a burden on the club and it is right time for him to leave it.
