The Vancouver Canucks in hot form this season and are looking to set new record after each game they win. Though were thought of being a good team this season but they have exceeded expectations. Interestingly, St. Louis Blues was the last team that defeated
the Canucks during regulation. This happened way back on the 5th of December 2010. Blue may on a slump have seen them losing seven of its last ten games but a performance similar to that of the 5th December can help their cause a great
deal.
Canucks were not looking at the start of their game against the Calgary Flames this Saturday. They were messed up at the back and front. Calgary Flames took advantage of this and led the Canucks. However, the league leaders put their foot on the gas and
saw Mikael Samuelsson scoring two goals along with Alexandre Burrows who also scored two goals to win the game. Samuelsson was the provider of the tying and the winning goals.
"Pucks are going in for me now, I had chances before and I didn't bury them, but that's how the season goes … it goes up and down and you just have to stay with it," said Samuelsson, who has 15 goals and two game-winners this year.
Vancouver Canucks have played 56 games in the season so far out which they have won 36 games in regulation time, 9 games in overtime and top the league with 81 points. On the other hand, St. Louis Blues have played 54 games out which they have won 24 games
in regulation time, 9 games in overtime and scored 57 points.
St. Louis Blues had a chance to crawl up the league table as they were up against the Minnesota Wild in back to back games. However, they suffered losses in both games which dropped them to the 13th spot in the Western Conference. The first game
was won 5-4 in shootout and the second was won 3-1 by Minnesota respectively.
T.J.Oshie scored in the only goal of the Wild in the second game. "Obviously we came away with a result we're not happy with, but it was an old-school battle," said Blues center T.J. Oshie, adding: "It's fun to play in that atmosphere, guys running around
hitting. They just got the best of us these two."
Without a doubt, Canucks have a very strong chance of winning the game but Blue have a habit of coming up with the occasional surprises.
