St. Louis Blues plays host to Colorado Avalanche in the fourth and final clash between the two teams
St. Louis Blues will host Colorado Avalanche in one of Tuesday’s games at the Scottrade Arena. This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season, out of the three games that have already taken place, Avalanche
has won all three games.
The last game between the two sides was played on the 22nd of February which witnessed Avalanche managing to win the game with a slender one goal advantage, by 4-3 in the end with Paul Stastny scoring the winning goal.
Avalanche and Blues are both out of the playoffs but they will be looking to battle out and come out hard to win. They will be hoping to come up with a good draft pick this time out as they look for a better season next time.
Avalanche will be without the services of Paul Stastny who won the game for Colorado last time out due to a leg injury. Avalanche will also be facing problems at the back as some of its main players are suffering from concussions. However, it is still confident
to come up with a good performance and win the game.
Avalanche was looking to finish in the bottom spot in the Western Conference but some decent performances in the last few games has seen it pulling out of that position.
It has managed to establish a seven-point lead over Oilers and will be looking to move up further with four games in the remaining games of the season.
Avalanche came up with a strong performance in its last game against Calgary Flames. However, Flames was able to overpower Avalanche’s defence twice to win the game, 2-1.
Colorado has a very good chance of finishing at the 11th spot if it can win all its remaining games.
Avalanche has played 78 games during the course of the season out of which it has won 29 games in regulation time and eight games in overtime to score a total of 66 points.
Blues, on the other hand, has played 79 games out of which it has won 36 games in regulation time and 10 games in overtime, scoring a total of 82 points.
Blues has turned into one of the high scoring teams in the last few games, absolutely demolishing its opponents. Blues has been impressive recently as it has won four out of the last six games which have seen Blues scoring 26 goals.
Blues will be looking to win its second straight game after defeating Columbus Blue Jackets by 6-1 in its last game.
