St. Louis Blues plays host to Edmonton Oilers in their fourth and final meeting this season

St. Louis Blues will host Edmonton Oilers at the Scottrade Center this Thursday in another one of the bottom tier teams’ game.
This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
Out of the three meetings that have taken place during the course of the season so far, Oilers won the first game 2-1 but Blues managed to win the last two games, 5-3 and 5-0, respectively.
Oilers have a chance to equalise the series while Blues are in a position to win the series 3-1.
The games that both the teams are playing are more of ice time rather than the running for the playoffs.
Both the teams are out of the playoff’s contention and will be looking to gain up on each other as the regular season draws to an end.
Oilers are going through some tough times once again as they have managed to produce only seven goals in their last seven games.
Resultantly, all of the seven games have ended with them being on the losing side. The Blue on the other hand were on a three games road trip.
Though they hoped to come across some success, they weren’t successful in doing so and the road trip saw them losing all three games.
Oilers are struggling in the department of offence and they have managed to score as many goals as many games they have played. In their last game against the Nashville Predators, Oilers were hoping to gain some momentum but they lost the game 3-1 in the
end.
"I don't think anybody in here is going to tell you it's easy. It's not. It's frustrating," said goaltender Devan Dubnyk. "It's more frustrating when we show we can go play. It doesn't matter how depleted you are, if you stick to a system, and you play it
hard, which is what Tom and the coaches have been preaching, you have a chance. That's more than anything, what we have to do. We show we can do it then we get away from it. That's what's frustrating."
Both teams have played 73 games during the course of the season out of which Oilers have won 23 games in regulation time and 10 games in overtime to score a total of 56 points.
Blues, on the other hand, have won 32 games in regulation time and nine games in overtime to score a total of 73 points.
Blues had these past four games to make their destiny but after winning the first game they lost the last three games to shut any hopes of making of making their way into the play-off cut.
They lost their last game 2-1 against Phoenix Coyotes.
"I thought we played solid from start to finish," Blues coach Davis Payne said. "Against a good team, the game is going to go back and forth, it's going to be tight scoring chances, it's going to be saves, a bounce here or there is going to make the difference
in a hockey game, and that's what happened."
