St. Louis Blues plays host to the Calgary Flames in the third of their four meetings this season - NHL Previews
One of the important games of Tuesday when it comes to the play-off cut will be the St. Louis Blues playing host to the Calgary Flames at the Scottrade Arena.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides out of the four scheduled meetings due to take place.
The Flames have won both the games so far and are in good shape to notch up a win this time out too.
The first game saw the Flames winning easily 4-1 in the end while the second was a tough game which saw the Flames winning a slender margin of a single goal.
Both teams will be facing each other after two days with the last meeting taking place this past Sunday.
The game told the story between the two sides who were on top of their game. Ben Bishop, goalie of the Blues came up with a brilliant performance during the course of the game but allowed the only goal of the game which was scored by David Moss.
David Moss has been an essential part of the Flames recently against the Blues as he scored the winning goal for the Flames during the first game between the two teams as well.
Blues, despite the heroics of their goalie, weren’t able to come up with something good which in return hurt their chances in the play-off running.
The Blues also managed to come up with some good player during the course of the trades which saw them bringing in players like Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk from the Colorado Avalanche.
Blues also let some of the players go during the deadline but they still have a decent lineup that has the capability of winning games and making their way into the play-off cut.
Ty Conklin is the second goalie in the Blues squad and his future still hangs as it is yet to be decided that which goalie would head to the AHL.
"He's been awesome since day one," Bishop said of Conklin. "You can go up to him and talk to him about anything. He's been in the League for a long time. He's told me multiple times, 'If you want to talk about anything, let me know.' He's just a great person
in general and a great goalie."
The Blues have played 62 games during the season so far out of which they have won 28 games in regulation time, nine games in overtime to score 65 points.
On the other hand, the Flames have played 64 games out of which they have won 32 games in regulation time, nine games in overtime to score a total of 73 points.
The Flames on the other hand haven’t come up with something extraordinary and added players like Freddy Modin who won the Stanley Cup for the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004 and also brought in Brett Carson, defenceman of the Carolina Hurricanes.
