St. Louis Blues re-sign trio of forwards Chris Porter, Anthony Peluso and Brett Sonne in two-way deals
St. Louis Blues have re-signed their young trio of 23-year-old Anthony Peluso, 29-year-old Chris Porter and 23 year-old Brett Sonne, all of whom are forwards.
All three of them are signed for one year, in a two-way contract, which means they will play for either St. Louis of National Hockey League (NHL) or their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliates, the Peoria Rivermen.
With signing of these three forwards, Peoria Rivermen must be feeling very excited and strong because they have also signed 25-year-old, right winger Jay Barriball, whose deal is also very similar to deal of Anthony Peluso, Chris Porter and Brett Sonne as
he is also signed for one-year in a two-way deal.
Financial terms were not disclosed by officials of the St. Louis Blues of any of the four players.
Among these four players, only Chris Porter is the person to have represented St. Louis Blues and played in the NHL. Although he has spent more time with Peoria Rivermen since he first played for Blues in 2008-2009 season.
He played just six games in the first season, before being sent to Rivermen again. Porter was needed by Blues for 45 games in the 2010-2011 season and 47 games in the 2011-2012 season, taking his total tally to 98 games in which he has scored eight goals
and as many assists, earning him a total of 16 points.
Brett Sonne, the Canadian born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, has played last two seasons with Peoria Rivermen, appearing in 77 games in the 2010-2011 season, scoring 11 goals and 13 assists, earning total of 24 points.
He also played 62 games in the 2011-2012 season, scoring five goals, four assists which earned him total of 9 points.
23-year-old, Anthony Peluso, the big 6-foot-4,227 pounder has had 27 fights in last two seasons of the AHL. He had 102 penalty minutes in 62 games played in 2010-2011 season and 57 penalty minutes in 22 games played, the season before.
But last year, the total penalty minutes he had are equal to penalty minutes of those two years as he had 159 penalty minutes last year in 61 games played.
The fourth player, Jay Barriball, has not got much of the games as he played just six games in 2010-2011 season and 21 games last season, before getting multiple concussions but he showed some class and emerging talent inside him by scoring four goals and
nine assists last year.
