St. Louis Cardinals’ David Freese and Tony La Russa enjoy moments of happiness and glory
Sunday brought moments of profound joy as the St. Louis Cardinals players descended at Busch Stadium to greet and be greeted by the fans. Thousands of jubilant fans came to celebrate the event for the Cardinals wearing red, the traditional colour identified
with the team.
Among others, David Freese seemed the delighted of all. His contribution was key in the Cardinals’ victory. Freese who had previously won the Most Favourite Player’s Award for the National League Championship series against the Milwaukee Brewers got the
MVP award for the World Series as well.
It was a moment of pride for the slugger who never failed to live up to the expectations of the fans. Freese, who is luckily a native of the same area, was bestowed with the keys to the City and County of St. Louis.
He called it amazing. While his contribution was indeed brilliant, bringing the eagerly sought glory for the St. Louis Cardinals, Freese did not omit the contribution of fellow players and specially thanked the fans for unshakable support and the belief
they had in the team and the player.
"This is amazing," Freese said. "[Even] with all this talent, with the right trades, none of this is possible without St. Louis and all the fans. So I thank you guys. You guys are the reason why this is possible."
For the St. Louis Cardinals’ manager, Tony La Russa, who remained a source of inspiration and kept instilling the ambition of winning in the team, the happiness was for anyone and everyone to share, calling everyone around as part of the family.
"We're all happy that you're enjoying this world championship," La Russa said. "We have a very great family here in this organization and you deserve it."
With the moments of happiness that pervaded the atmosphere on Sunday, October 30 Busch Stadium saw for the 11th time in its history the Championship title coming their way. Everyone who was part of the team got a standing ovation. The Cardinals
will now expect to repeat history with same zeal once the 2012 season begins.
