St. Louis Cardinals’ Jaime Garcia set to pitch with confidence in Game 6 of World Series
The St. Louis Cardinals’ starter Jaime Garcia dismissed any assumption on Tuesday, October 25 that he was stressed prior to Game 6 of the World Series. Slated to start the game on Wednesday, the Cardinals starter is calm and has a forward-looking approach.
Although such a big game will cause strain for any player, the professionalism of this starter and the experience that he has in his arsenal enable him to put up a competitive demeanour.
"I'm going to sleep good and get ready," Garcia said. "I've worked really hard in between starts through the whole season to get to this point, and it all comes down to whoever is better."
The Cardinals are currently down to 2-3 in the best-of-seven games. Game 6 may turn out to be decisive for both the Cardinals and Rangers. In case the Cardinals win, they will stay afloat, trying their luck in the Game 7. If the Rangers do it, this will
formally mark the end of it, entitling them to the World Series Championship.
Tony La Russa, the Cardinals’ team manager, maintains his team has pitched well. Despite the defeats that the team had to suffer, he thinks there has to be an amalgamation of defence and offence approach to prevail in Game 6.
"If you look at our series, we really have pitched well," Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said. "We've had one really good offensive game."
Garcia, he asserts, is key in bringing glory to the Cardinals. Were he to succeed in the upcoming game, it will re-establish the seemingly depleted confidence of the team.
In 32 starts, Garcia has a record of 14-10 with a 4.40 ERA. Although Garcia did not do well in the National League Championship Series, in World Series’ Game 2 he pitched a stunner, with three-hits in seven innings. Therefore, much hinges upon is performance
on Wednesday. The Cardinals will be looking to Garcia to save their season and get a dominate win against the Rangers in Game 6 of the World Series.
